Chairperson of the Islamic Finance Center of Maldives, Dr.Aishath Muneeza have said that if worked hard enough towards one goal, one would be able to attain achievements.
Speaking to Miadhu after Dr.Muneeza got listed among the top 500 notable women in the field of Islamic Finance, Dr.Muneeza said that there are women working in the sector even in Maldives. She said that there are women in senior positions at Capital Market Authority of Maldives and in Shariah boards of some companies as well.
“ For instance, the Islamic window of BML is led by a woman Director fathmath Manike as well “ said Dr.Muneeza. She said that Islamic Finance sector has a lot of scope for women and if worked hard enough, women can progress in the field.
Dr.Muneeza said that having a woman in charge of the Capital Market Development Authority’s sharia board is something unique and it is not common for countries to appoint women to this position. “ We should note the work government is doing a lot to provide opportunities for women. Everyone should work hard. In Maldives, there is equal opportunity for both the genders. We should note this “ said Dr.Muneeza.
In the history of Maldives, a woman has not been listed in such a list like Dr.Muneeza. Hence, Dr.Muneeza has indeed attained a very special position. Also she made it to this list with work done within just 5 years and this shows how much work she has done to develop Islamic Finance in Maldives.
