Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have said that the best public transport services are given in Addu City among all the atolls of Maldives.
He said that the bus and speed boat services are provided by MPL in Addu in a really well organized manner and because of that the people of Addu are benefiting from it. Minister noted that these services are important services provided by President Yameen to the people of Addu and Fuvahmulah. He requested people to accept these services.
The people of Hulhumeedhoo requested to start providing speed launch services between Feydhoo and Hulhumeedhoo from a bigger launch because, there is high demand between the two sectors. Since the demand is high, some people buy tickets in advance and sell it in the black market. In addition to Addu, MPL is providing public transport services in Fuvahmulah as well.
MPL spends 25 million Rufiyaa out of their CSR budget to provide this service. CEO of MPL, Muhammad Junaid said that the economy will not develop if the people are not able to travel easily and carry goods from one place to the other. He said that the people will be well off when they are able to transport goods from one place to the other and sell it and hence the work done by MPL is an important national service.
Speaking to Miadhu News, Junaid assured that MPL will always try their best to assist the President in economic development of Maldives.
