Today marks the second anniversary of the reign of King Salman Bin Abdul Azeez of Saudi Arabia. He assumed the throne when King Abdullah passed away.
King Salman is continuing many projects that were initiated by King Abdullah. Within 2 years King Salman started many new developmental projects and completed them. In addition, King Salman continues to assist to maintain peace in the middle east and in the development of Muslim nations. He gives a lot of importance to maintain relations with other countries.
It should be noted that the King gives a high priority to provide top class services to those who perform Hajj and Umra.
King Salman is also the closest to Maldives among all Saudi Kings. Since he assumed the throne, the assistance given to Maldives by Saudi Arabia has increased significantly.
Hajj quotas were increased from 1000 to 2000 and Saudi Airline has started scheduled flights to Maldives. Among all the countries, Maldives have the highest number of Hajj quota as a percentage of the population.
He has also financed various mosques around Maldives and also financed to develop a 15-story Islamic center with a mosque with capacity of 6000 people. In addition, he has also promised to provide 4 mobile fish canneries to Maldives.
Furthermore, he has decided to finance a part of the Ihavandipolhu development project “IHAVEN”.
