Tata company raised concerns about the temporary mosque built by Islamic Ministry in the Odeon compound. They even threatened not to finish the projects in old Arabiyya compound and in Gaakoshi area.
Government was forced to remove the temporary mosque and various Maldivian protested over this.
It’s been 4 years since the removal of the mosque. They have still not started the work of the flats. Housing Ministry has given a notice to Tata saying that the contract will be annulled if they do not start the work of the flats within 90 days.
Housing Minister Dr. Muizzu said that the government is concerned and worried because Tata has still not started developing these properties.
The properties planned for these land plots are modern and luxury flats with swimming pools.
