Next step is expanding the harbor and providing services at Hulhumale’ : Junaid

CEO of MPL Muhammad Junaid have said that the next step for the company is to expand Male’ harbor and providing services of MPL in Hulhumale’.
Junaid said that right now only one boat can moor near the port jetty and that he wants to expand the harbor so that atleast two boats can do it.

He said that the Economic Council has given permission to expand the harbor and MPL is also working on to introduce container clearing services at Hulhumale’ port.

He said that after it is done, containers that are designated to other atolls and containers used for projects will be cleared from Hulhumale’ port.

“ There will be a domestic and an international area. When customs clear the goods, containers will be changed to the domestic area. Services will be provided round the clock “ said Junaid. He said that they have brought an end to imposing fines on businesses to increase MPL revenue and now the generate revenue by providing services.

“ Even now we have introduced 300 new jobs. Revenue has increased by 18 percent. Jobs will still be increasing. Even the revenue “ said Junaid.
