Courts complete more than 20,000 cases in 2016
Statistics by the Judicial Administration shows that number of cases filed at the courts in 2016 are higher than 2015 at a record level.
The figures show that there was a 13.6 percent increase in the number of cases filed in 2016. In 2015, 17712 cases were filed at lower courts while the figure was 20116 in 2016. There were additional 2404 cases in 2016.
In addition, the completed cases in 2016 increased by 6.6 percent. In 2016, a total of 20678 cases were completed in 2016. The number of cases completed in 2016 are more than the number of cases filed. The clearance rate in 2016 is at 103 percent.
The unfinished cases in 2016 was decreased to 7.8 percent. In 2015 the number of unfinished cases were 7178. In 2016 the figure was 6616. By 2015 27 percent cases in the courts were in the court system for more than 1 year. However, in 2016 the figure was at 12 percent. In 2015 there were 1948 cases that has been in the court system for more than a year and in 2016 there were only 798 cases.
