Sushma Swaraj saves 41 Indian sailors

India’s external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has saved 41 sailors who were stranded 9 km away from Ajman Port of UAE.

The sailors were stranded in a boat without salary for four months. They sailors asked the minister for help via twitter. After she came to know about the call for help she instructed the Indian consulate in Dubai to assist the sailors.

The minister tweeted saying that the sailors had just two weeks of supplies and thus directed the Indian consulate to ensure that they do not run out of supplies. In addition, it seems that she is working to make sure that the company that owns the ship pays the salary of the 41 sailors.

After the intervention of the Minister, the sailors made a video thanking the minister for intervening. They said that now they will get their salaries and will be able to go home all because of her.

The Indian Consulate has also released a statement saying that they have established contact with the Indian sailors and said that they are now assisting the crew members.
