Ooredoo expands 4G+ Network to 100 new locations, covering 75% of the Maldives!
Ooredoo expands its 4G+ network to 100 additional locations covering 75% of the Maldives, as part of its nationwide 4G+ rollout to accommodate for the increasing communication needs of local people and businesses.

The company announced this at a special ceremony held at L. Fonadhoo today, one of the 100 new locations where Ooredoo customers can benefit from its high speed 4G+ Network.

Chief Executive of the. Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM), Ilyas Ahmed said: “Congratulations to Ooredoo on their successful expansion of 4G+ across the Maldives. With internet being a crucial part of national growth, we appreciate Ooredoo’s commitment to strengthening its networks and providing high speed connectivity to all communities across the country”

We’re honoured to be part of this progress in the Maldives, as Ooredoo’s nationwide 4G+ rollout connects 75% of the country to the plentiful socioeconomic benefits of high speed connectivity”

As of today, Ooredoo’s 4G+ network is now available in locations across Raa, Baa, Lhaviyani, Kaafu, Alif Alif, Alif Dhaalu, Vaavu, Meemu,Faafu, Dhaalu, Thaa,Laamu,Gaaf Alif, GaafDhaalu, Gnaviyani and Seenu atoll. All Ooredoo customers will be able to use 4G+ network in available areas without any additional charges, provided that they have a 4G+ compatible phone and a 4G SIM card. To check whether a customer’s existing SIM card is 4G compatible, simply SMS “4G” to 5353. 4G SIM cards are easily available at Ooredoo Experience Centres and Business Partner Shops.

Ooredoo’s nationwide 4G rollout is expected to be completed by mid-January 2017.
