Fisheries and Agriculture Minister Dr.Shainee has visited the Maldivian Embassy in New Delhi during his official trip to India.
In his visit, Dr.Shainee signed the visitors book at the Embassy. Dr.Shainee is doing a lot of work to promote Maldivian marine products abroad. As a result, the market price for Maldivian products, especially tuna has increased in the last 3 years.
Dr.Shainee is also involved in promoting sustainable fishing, which is practiced in the Maldives and his work is well received globally. In addition, the minister has introduced new programs to diversify the fisheries industry of Maldives. Some programs include breeding of sea cucumber and pilot projects of deep sea fishing.
