HDC has contracted Amin Construction with developing 402 flats. These flats are allocated to government staffs and staffs of government owned corporations.
In a ceremony held at HDC today to sign the agreement, the MD of HDC Muhammad Simon said that these flats will be larger than the social housing flats. The project costs around 647 million Rufiyaa.
Simon said that the government will create regulations to lease the flats and it will be the government who decides who exactly will get the flats. “Government will decide on the government institutions that will get these flats” said Simon.
Simon said that the government’s policy is not to develop housing for each institution like Police and MNDF but develop through a housing scheme.
Under this project three, 14-storied towers will be developed in the first phase of Hulhumale’. The project should be completed within 780 days. Out of that 60 days is given to design the building. The MD of Amin Construction Abdullah Muhammad said that they will finish the project on time and it will be a quality project.
