Education Ministry has officially accepted the dustbins donated to the Ministry by Eve Garment. This was done as a gesture to help with the ministry’s effort to make the students more environmentally conscious.
In a ceremony held at the Civil Service Seminar room today, Eve Garment donated 240 dustbins. Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shiham accepted the dustbins on behalf of the ministry. Eve Garment donated these dustbins under their CSR program and these dustbins will be sent to all schools of Maldives. The dustbins are worth 475,000 Rufiyaa.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister said that the students need to make it a habit to clean their surroundings. The minister said that in addition to a healthy diet, a clean environment is crucial for a healthy life. Minister also emphasized on the importance of teaching the students to manage waste in their own schools.
Minister noted the role of private entities in the education system of Maldives. She said that these dustbins donated by Eve Garment will play a huge role in the upbringing of the students. She thanked Eve Garment for donating them.
