President Yameen has questioned why the people are forced to ask for basic things from the current government.
President made this statement while speaking to the people of Naalaafushi.
In his speech president referred to the 30 years of President Maumoon and 3 years of President Nasheed. He said that if development were brought during this period, people will not have to ask for basic needs from the current government.
President said that the government has been able to provide numerous services within the last three years not because Maldives has some new-found source of revenue. “Even before our main sources of income were through tourism and fishing” said the President.
President said that the difference is that this government caters for the need of the people. President said that those who say that all governments are the same then they should look at how previous governments governed.
President also asked the people of Naalaafushi to join hands with the government to develop the nation.
If necessary developments were brought within the past 33 years, people will not have to ask the current government for it !
