President Yameen have said that the average growth rate of Maldivian economy is higher than the global average and hence, Maldives can pay off the debts.
Speaking to the people of Magoodhoo the President said that Maldives has the capacity to repay the loans and hence there is no reason to hesitate to borrow money to develop the country. President said that the country is in a good state financially and there is no reason to delay things that should be done to develop the nation.
The government borrows development loans at the lowest possible interest rates with long repayment periods. Government has put an end to borrowing loans from commercial banks at high interest rates.
