Government of India has donated spare parts to Maldivian National Defense Force.
In a special ceremony held onboard Indian Navy Ship Kankaaso, the spare parts were handed over to MNDF by Defense Advisor to the Maldives by India Captain Prashaanth Haandoo. Commander of Marine Corp Brigadier General Ali Zuhair accepted the spare parts on behalf of MNDF.
Speaking at the ceremony, Brigadier General Ali Zuhair thanked the government of India for their continued assistance to MNDF and to the Maldives in general. Brigadier General Ali Zuhair signed the visitors book of the ship.
The spare parts given to MNDF includes parts for coast guard ship Hurvaee, MNDF helicopter, and parts for some vehicles. The ceremony was attended by senior officers of the ship, sailors and officers of MNDF as well.
