Foreign Minister Dr.Muhammad Asim have said that the relation between Maldives and India will always be a strong relation that we all should be thankful for.
Speaking at a ceremony held last night to mark the 68th Republic Day of India, Dr.Asim said that if Maldives is faced with something, India is always the first to assist and this relation between the two countries should be noted.
Dr.Asim said that the India First policy of President Yameen is proof that Maldives wants to have close relations with India.
“Indian investors who wants to invest in Maldives has increased after the investment forum held in India. Also, the youth exchange program between Maldives and India are strengthening relations between the two countries” said Dr.Asim.
Dr.Asim noted that India assists Maldives in several areas of need. He said that the relation between the two countries will continue to grow stronger.
India assists the most in developing the health sector of Maldives while it is also India which assists the most in developing the defence force of Maldives.
