Ten Bangladeshis have been arrested from Kulhuduhfushi for gambling. A police media official said that they were arrested on an operation conducted on 2nd February. All of them were men aged 23 to 48 years old.
Police conducted the operation after they received information about the matter.
In the operation police found various materials related to gambling and a lot of money as well. The Kulhduhfushi court has remanded them into police custody for 7 days. The Kulhuduhfushi police station is now investigating the case.
Gambling is illegal in the Maldives and it is prohibited in Islam as well. From time to time foreigners get arrested in Maldives for gambling.
