Edwin Leo the Singaporean pastry chef who won the pastry category of the International Culinary Olympics Challenge has started a training program in Maldives today for Maldivian chefs.
The training was organized by Hotel Asia Exhibition and it began at 9:30 in the morning at Hulhule’ Island Hotel.
A total of 142 chefs are taking part in the training including 58 chefs from resorts, chefs from restaurants in Male’ and students of hotel school.
Speaking to Miadhu News, the project director of Hotel Asia Exhibition Mr.Alan Palmar said that the purpose of the training is to expose Maldivian chefs to high end trainings and to increase their capacity.
Similar programs are to be held before Ramadan and before the culinary challenge on September. Maldivian chefs and foreign chefs who work in the Maldives often win international awards from culinary challenges. Hotel Asia Exhibition hopes that the participants of the training program are able to learn new things from the training.
