Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed have said that court around the world give a high importance to provide top quality services and that the Maldivian judiciary is also doing a lot of work to improve administrative services of the courts.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of a conference held at Islamic Center aiming to improve governance of courts, the Chief Justice said that cutting down on administrative costs, finishing cases at a reasonable rate, and having a centralized system to share information are high priorities for courts around the world.
Abdullah Saeed said that to provide quality services, the administrative staffs of the court should also be trained and should make sure that they are able to work as a team towards a common goal.
The Chief Justice said that these are included in the strategic plans made to develop the judiciary of the Maldives. Also, he said that completing cases as per the procedures is also a goal set in the strategic plans.
In addition, he said that when they work along these plans, the judiciary will be more efficient and upstanding. He also said that, they can further improve the work that needs to be done with other related institutions.
Speaking about the conference that started today Abdullah Saeed said that the conference is an important conference where the judicial system will be further developed and the staffs will be further trained. He requested the participants to discuss extensively about ways in which the judiciary can be developed.
