President Yameen have said that the aim of the government is to provide people with a high standard of living.
Delivering the annual presidential address at Dharubaaruge this morning, the president said that the government gives a high priority to increase foreign investments in the country. He said that, to achieve that goal, the government is working on establishing a dispute resolution mechanism.
In addition, the president said that a commercial court will be established in Maldives which will consider business and financial cases. The president said that, an internationally recognized arbitration center will be established in the Maldives as well.
Speaking about some major projects that initiated last year, the president said that housing projects will begin in some islands this year.
Today’s ceremony was attended by ministers, heads of independent institutions, and parliament members.
