Sheikh Hussain Abdullah Saeed have said that believing in Allah alone is not sufficient to attain a place in paradise and that can be done by hard work.
Giving a lecture after Asr prayers last Friday, the sheikh said that believing in Allah and his messenger is the first step towards going to paradise. He said that those who complete this step should move on to the next steps.
According to the sheikh the second step is doing all that is obligatory in Islam and staying away from all that is forbidden in Islam. He said that the third step is also very important and the third step is spending on one’s family and all dependents. He said that every person must fulfil his or her duties to the society and that is vital to attain paradise.
Sheikh said that money that is saved up without spending on path of Allah, will not do any good once a person dies. He said that such money will only benefit, if that person spent on the path of Allah when he was alive.
He said that spending on dependents, giving alms, and assisting the poor are all very important acts.
Even though Islam instructs us to do these things, it is very common today to see that some people do not spend on their families or take care of their parents. Some people just spend a minimal amount on the family and spend extravagantly for self-happiness.
