President Yameen have said that Maldives faces danger from colonial powers which destroyed Muslim countries.
He made this statement while speaking at a ceremony held at K.Thulusdhoo to celebrate the end of the land reclamation project in Thulusdhoo. A total of 33 hectors were reclaimed under this project. President said that if we look at the past 6 years, it can be observed that Muslim countries that do not accept western ways were faced with different threats.
“In these countries, people are living without water or electricity. All infrastructure has been destroyed. Do they deserve this because they follow Islam” said the President. He said that even Maldives faces danger from these countries and Maldivians should be aware of this.
He said that there are some Maldivians who believe that Maldivians should copy western civilization. The President said that, it cannot be done and we should only adapt things that does not contradict with Islam.
