Biggest crime in the Maldives is to become 65 years old : Ibrahim Hassan

MP for Thoddoo constituency Ibrahim Hassan have said that the biggest crime in Maldives is to become 65 years old.

Speaking at the parliament session yesterday, Ibrahim said that the recent bill that was passed in the parliament shows that being 65 is a bigger crime than adultery, murder, gambling, and similar vices.

“It was this parliament that voted to decided that those who are above 65 cannot contest in presidential elections. After that then we passed allowing people with criminal backgrounds to run in public elections. Where is the justice in this? Where is the day we want to see ? “questioned Ibrahim.

He said that problems cannot be solved by just talking. Ibrahim said that to solve the problems all institutions should work together and the parliament should be more responsible.

“That is why we should hesitate to pass such laws. We should hesitate, and then the country will be reformed. I do not want to say names but we should refrain from passing any law that harms the nation. We should boycott it. Without doing it we cannot do anything. I am talking very clearly. This is the truth. If we do things in this regard no one should worry about. Even justice can be established, and we can protect the state. The people of the Maldives will be protected” said Ibrahim.
