Inability to get justice is not due to lack of necessary laws : Abdullah Riyaz

MP for Kinbidhoo constituency Abdullah Riyaz have said that justice is denied not due to lack of necessary laws.

Speaking at the parliament session yesterday, Riyaz said that it is important to make the laws as perfect as possible and laws related to evidence is also very important. Riyaz said that while the Majlis approves the evidence act, it is important to create one solid guideline for the courts to accept evidence. Riyaz asked to narrow the options for judges to choose between accepting or denying DNA evidences.

Riyaz said that there are capable judges in Maldivian courts and hence what is important is that investigating judges even if a judge is suspected of something. He also said that it is important to create a mechanism to take action against such judges.
