Efforts of King Salman to promote Arabic and Islamic education in Maldives recognized by the government of Maldives .
Government of Maldives has officially recognized the efforts of King Salman to promote Arabic and Islamic education in Maldives.

In a ceremony held at the Education Ministry this morning, the government awarded a shield to the government of Saudi Arabia. The Deputy Saudi Ambassador to Maldives Mathrick Al-Dhosaary accepted the shield on behalf of Saudi King. In addition, a shield was given to a Saudi officer working at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia as well.

Speaking at the ceremony, Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shiham said that the government of Saudi Arabia has been continuously helping to promote Arabic language and Islamic education in Maldives.

She said that even this year 17 teachers were sent to the Maldives from the kingdom and in addition 3500 books were donated to each grade starting from 1 to 5.

She said that they accept these books with much gratitude.

The teachers sent by Saudi are now teaching in Addu City and Kulhuduhfushi. At the moment 41 schools in Maldives offer Arabic language courses.
