MP for Kaashidhoo constituency Faisal Naseem have said that, judicial authorities must be fearful of the day when they will be held accountable for their actions.
Speaking at yesterday’s parliament session, Faisal said that the main problem is that people in high offices does not fear anything or anyone and hence they must be fearful. He said that justice cannot be attained until then.
“People who are in charge of delivering justice are suspect of serious crimes. Hence, I call them to be afraid and accept that there is another day.
People say various things because there are reasons to say. The whole world believes that there are problems in trials conducted in the past two years. So, once we pass the evidence act, it should be implemented. If we are under a political influence or if we want to get rich quick, then justice cannot be delivered” said Faisal.
Faisal said that if there were no problems people will not talk about these issues. “ What I want to say is that, if things do not go according to how I just mentioned, then we will have to face bigger problems” said Faisal. He also indirectly highlighted Mahloof’s case.
“Think carefully about what happened. Think about the trials of the past few years. Male’ is a small place. Even if a parrot is lost, it is found within 24 hours. But there is a trial saying a grown men, hid from the authorities in front of everyone. This is our situation now. So I want to call those who are responsible in delivering justice to be fearful of another day. You cannot escape that day and must face your actions. We must think about this today. If we want to get rich quick today, then we won’t be doing the right actions” said Faisal.
