“Hunaruveri Kanbalunge Expo 2017” an expo which displays craftsmanship of Maldivian women is a huge achievement to the manufacturing industry of Maldives. More than 670 women took part in the expo and more than 26,000 items were displayed in the expo.
This is the first expo of this kind to be held in Maldives. However, the quality of the work seen in the items displayed are very high. This expo was organized by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim and the expo encouraged women to get involved in such works. Also, it paved opportunities for women with great talent.
This was a good opportunity for women who likes to work independently. In addition, this will encourage women to abandon the idea of working for a salary, but work to get a good value for their work. Women can be their own boss in this field of work.
This service by the First Lady will be remembered for a long time. Maldives has been an independent country and a republic for half a century and it was Madam Faathun who took the initiative to start something like this.
