Outdoor playground developed by STO at the children’s shelter in Hulhumale’ has been opened officially in a ceremony held on Saturday afternoon. This playground was developed as part of STO’s corporate social responsibility program.
The playground was officially opened by Minister of Gender and Family Aminath Zeneessha Shaheed Zakee and the managing director of STO Ahmed Shaheer. Speaking at the ceremony, the MD of STO Ahmed Shaheer said that it is a huge aim of STO to assist children and specially children with special needs.
He said that they will continue to assist in future as well.
Speaking at the ceremony Gender Minister Zeneesha said that it is the policy of the government to provide education and a happy childhood to all children. She thanked STO for developing the park. Children living at the center presented some entertainment activities at the ceremony and staffs of STO spent some time with the children.
In addition to the playground STO also sponsored the salaries of two teachers at the shelter and donated household items to the shelter. STO is also sponsoring salaries of 4 teachers at the children’s shelter in Villigili since 2014.
