Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim have said that with the will of Allah, Polio, Filaria and Malaria has been eradicated from Maldives and diseases like measles will also be eradicated soon.
Speaking at the national campaign started today to eradicate measles from Maldives, the minister said that he requests everyone to get vaccinated for measles to make sure that measles has been eradicated from Maldives.
Nazim said that, the launching ceremony of such a campaign being held at the president’s office and the president taking part in it shows how much the president prioritizes public health.
This is the first time such a campaign was launched at the president’s office in the history of Maldives. Nazim said that this national campaign will be finished within 2 weeks and after an analysis by WHO, WHO will declare Maldives as measles free.
“With the will of Allah, Maldives will be the first country in this region to eradicate measles” said the minister.
