President Yameen have stated that the government does not intend to sell any land from Maldives and he said that no project is better suited than F.Atoll project to elevate the name of Maldives around the world.
He made this statement in a ceremony held this afternoon to handover 600 membership forms to the President from newly joined members of PPM from Gemanafushi and Maamigili. The president said that, the F.Atoll project will not only develop the atoll but develop the whole country.
The president said that, details about the project will be revealed once the final talks regarding the project is over. He said that the amount of money Maldives will receive through the project will be announced once everything is finalized. He said that no one has the right to stop such projects and everyone should work to bring in such mega projects.
“Through this project resorts, airports and water sport facilities rtc. will be developed. This will revolutionize the tourism industry of Maldives. A similar project has been implemented in the Mediterranean as well” said the president.
The president also responded to those who say that Maldives will run out of land. He said that there are shallow lagoons in Maldives and it will be very easy to reclaim land. He said that lands larger than Hulhumale’ can be dredged easily and very soon a dredger will brought to Maldives to conduct such projects.
He said that, the project will be carried out within the limits set by the law and laws are passed because large investments will not come to Maldives if they do not get legal protection.
