Sheikh Muhammad Latheef have said that only a highly ignorant person will say that Saudi Arabia creates terrorists.
Speaking as a student who studied from Saudi Arabia, the sheikh said that Saudi Arabia does nothing other than promoting Islam and that he condemns those who spread false information about Saudi Arabia.
“Only a highly ignorant person will make such statements. Even if we look at the whole world, everyone knows about the work Saudi Arabia is doing to promote Islam and against terrorism” said the sheikh. In addition, he said that those who spread false news saying that Saudi Arabia supplies ISIS with fighters is doing this for political gains.
He said that he spent 11 years in Saudi Arabia and that all his teachers were moderate and not extremists. He said that the current rulers of Saudi Arabia are the third rulers of Saudi Arabia and the first one was the rule of Muhammad bin Saud during 1157 and even in his regime terrorism was not supported.
In addition, he said that we should think about the number of Maldivian students who studied from Saudi Arabia and shirk and Bidah were eradicated from Maldivian society due to the hard work of Saudi educated scholars.
He said that Saudi is the best country to form economic and social relations. He said that rulers are not innocent and even they can commit mistakes, but the work they do to promote Islam outweighs these mistakes.
Sheikh Latheef said that he made these statements feeling it as a personal responsibility due to the false news being spread about Saudi Arabia by some people in the Maldives.
