Chancellor of Islamic University Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed have said that Islamic education contributed the most in the development of Islamic civilization.
Dr.Shaheem made this statement last night, in a ceremony held to launch the national campaign to boost religious spirit and patriotism. He gave a presentation on the beginning of Islamic Civilization. He said that the first verse of the Quran also shows how important education is.
Dr.Shaheem said that the companions of the prophet researched on this verse and gave a lot of importance on education. He said that all the achievements of the Islamic civilization were due to the education and self-discipline of the sahabas. Dr.Shaheem also talked about the role of women in Islamic civilization in his presentation.
A lot of people noted that Dr.Shaheem’s presentation was the most eloquent presentation seen in the Maldives in recent history.
