Maseeh cannot be removed – Opposition is worried that he follows the procedures of the parliament: Nihaan

Leader of PPM parliamentary group, Ahmed Nihaan Hassan Manik have said that the opposition cannot pass the motion to remove the speaker of the parliament Abdullah Maseeh. He said that the opposition is worried that the speaker follows the procedure of the parliament.

Some PPM members also said that the opposition is trying to remove Maseeh to influence the judiciary. Twenty-six members signed a letter asking to remove Maseeh. This is the fourth time such a petition has been submitted to the parliament to remove Maseeh.

Speaking to the press after a meeting held by the PPM PG group tonight, Maseeh said that everything will end well. President Yameen said that, the ruling party should have the opportunity to keep who they want to as the speaker of the parliament and that no one should obstruct it.
