Economic minister Muhammad Saeed have said that if ease of doing business is considered, Maldives have the best opportunities for businesses and the world has recognized this.
Speaking to the press last night at Bandos Island Resort, the minister said that the world has recognized that Maldives has the potential to provide high returns in future. He said that major investors of the world are expressing interest to invest in Maldives. The minister said that previously foreign investors invested in islands, but today they are ready to invest even after reclaiming land. He said that this shows that they are ready to invest large amounts in Maldives.
The minister said that Maldives is talking with UAE and Singapore to sign investment protection agreements. In addition, he said that the government is working on to eliminate double taxation. He said that these measures will boost investor confidence and gain interest of investors.
