Football association of Maldives has decided to hold a futsal competition targeted for Maldivian women only.
The vice president of FAM Aishath Nazima said that clubs and organization can take part in the competition and even national team platers can participate in the tournament under specific guidelines.
The competition will be held after Ramadan of this year. She said that the purpose of this tournament is to promote football in Maldives and to provide more opportunities to play football. She said that soon, a call for participants will be made and that she expects a lot of support.
Nazima also said that, they have planned a football tournament in Addu City and some other activities in the atoll to promote football.
