MP for Dhiggaru constituency Faaris Maumoon has been summoned to ACC for questioning.
He was summoned to ACC during a time, he has submitted a petition to take a vote of no confidence against the speaker of the parliament, Abdullah Maseeh.
Speaking to the press after meeting with ACC officials, he said that they are not investigating anything related to him, but they summoned him to obtain some information regarding a case. Since it is an ongoing case he did not reveal further information about the case.
Faaris said that he is even ready to go to jail, if he has to as a result of his work on holding the government accountable.
Former president Maumoon and former president Nasheed tweeted to Faaris, encouraging him after he revealed that he is to be summoned to ACC.
Maumoon tweeted today asking Faaris to be courageous and said that PPM is behind Faaris Maumoon.
