Police media official have stated that they arrested MDP activist Thayyib regarding an ongoing investigation. Thayyib often tweets in vulgar language and incites violence on social media.
Criminal court has remanded him into police custody for 7 days.
The media official did not give details of the case.
Last night Thayyib tweeted saying that more than 7 people has passed away as a result of influenza. He also tweeted about the Faafu Atoll projects. However all his tweets are unverified claims.
