Soldiers are ready to give up voting rights : Adam Shareef

Defence Minister Adam Shareef have said that, the soldiers fully support the amendment the government is trying to bring to the MNDF legislation that will prevent soldiers from voting in elections.

Speaking at the ceremony held tonight to end the 12th Drill competition of MNDF, the minister said that the amendment is supported by officers of MNDF and all soldiers in general.

He says that it shows that the soldiers would like to stay away from political activities. The minister said that the amendment will be proposed within this year, but he does not want to rush it and wants it to be perfect.
