Deputy Leader of JP Dr.Hussain Rasheed have said that there is no logic to the amounts the government is asking Villa to pay.
Speaking at the rally held by JP tonight, he said that while Villa does not have to pay any money to the state it is ridiculous to demand fines for money that Villa do not have to pay in the first place.
“They are saying that 100 million dollars should be paid. We don’t know what kind of arithmetic they are doing. They are hurting Qasim Ibrahim regarding all the political incidents in Maldives. We have even protested on the streets asking the government to stop it. The government did not hear this” said Hussain Rasheed.
Everyone who spoke at tonight’s rally condemned how High Court is handling cases related to Villa Shipping and Trade. They also asked to treat all humans with mercy and with justice. The rally was attended by members of MDP, AP and supporters of President Maumoon including his son Faaris Maumoon.
