Deputy Leader of JP, Abdullah Riyaz have called all the branches of the state and independent institutions to prioritize laws and the constitution.
Riyaz made this statement in a press conference held by the opposition today at Kunooz. MDP, JP, PPM and AP signed an agreement to work together for reforms.
Riyaz said that the opposition do not agree on everything but they want to keep it aside and leaders of these 4 parties has agreed to work together to solve the problems the country is facing today.
He said that the purpose of this is to create an environment where everyone can live together in harmony and independent institutions can also work independently. In addition, he said that they aim to create an environment where foreign investors can invest and do business in Maldives.
In addition, Abdullah Riyaz said that, it should be ensured that the judges are able to work without any influence. Also he said that, MNDF, police and independent institutions should have the authority to work according to the constitution.
He advised everyone to prioritize laws instead of political orders. He asked even the lowest level staffs to keep this in mind.
