Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that opposition leaders joined yesterday aiming not to get separated again.
In a rally held at Kunooz last night, Qasim said that the 4 opposition leaders have different ideologies but they set aside their differences and are willing to work together. He said that the 4 leaders will heed lessons from the past.
Qasim said that it is important that the judiciary be reformed and that can be done when the judiciary has adequate budget. “Everyone is talking about judicial reforms. But we are seeing budget cuts from the judiciary. Then what can be done to reform the judiciary ?” questioned Qasim.
In addition Qasim said that the whole world welcomed Maldives when the current constitution was ratified. He said that however, many unconstitutional amendments have been brought to the constitution and he will work as much as he can to correct these wrongs.
Qasim said that no matter what calamities he might be faced with he will not step back and bow down to tyranny.
