Sheikh Jaufar Faaiz have asked whether the people do not accept the biggest gift given to us by Allah because they are wealthier than Allah.
He said that Allah has given us very expensive gifts and that is salat. He said that especially the 5 obligatory prayers.
Sheikh Jaufar said that it is a historic tradition to exchange gifts when visiting each other. “Allah revealed verses about salat not through Jibreel but during the Al Isra wal Miraj journey. The verses were revealed directly to the prophet without any intermediary. This is the gift given to the prophet after Allah elevated the prophet to the heavens. Hence there will not be a gift hat is more expensive that this” said the Sheikh.
Sheikh Jaufar said that there are many people who do not accept this gift and such people do not accept the gift maybe because they think they are richer than Allah.
“If a king or a ruler gives a gift people hurry to receive it. If a king sends an invitation you wear your best clothes with the best perfume and will attend it. But is this how we are doing with regards to the invitations of Allah ? Allah invites us 5 times a day. Are we able to accept it ? “ questioned the sheikh.
He said that people hurry over if a ruler invites and leave whatever they are doing. But people do not act the same way when they hear the call for prayer.
The sheikh said that you will attain goodness in the hereafter not by accepting invitations from worldly rulers but by accepting the invitations of Allah. “ We should accept invitations from rulers as well. That is how it is in Islam as well. But more priority should be given to the invitations of Allah. Everything else should be secondary” said the sheikh.
He made these statements in a religious lecture held at Masjid Muhammad Bin Abdullah.
