USA has released a statement voicing concern over the voting procedure of the parliament yesterday.
The statement says that they are concerned about yesterday’s voting and that they call the government to carry out the voting of local council elections based on democratic principles.
Opposition and some others are voicing concerns over how the votes were casted in yesterday’s parliament session.
In addition, Maldivians are concerned about how USA votes in issues regarding Palestine. Maldivians are concerned that USA uses veto power in UN to veto all resolutions that tries to ensure rights of the Palestinians. Furthermore, Maldivians are worried that even if a resolution is passed, USA encourages Israel not to implement it.
