Villa Shipping and Trading has stated that if MIRA investigates fairly as per the regulations, no action will be taken against the company.
Speaking to Miadhu News, an official from Villa said that usually MIRA takes action after careful investigations and after making sure that the company has to pay the money. The official said that, this time MIRA ordered Villa to pay 18 million dollars without any investigations and just based on the request of Tourism Ministry.
“Mira has told us something like that” said the official.
The official said that central bank and taxation authority of any country will take action after checking everything properly and after ensuring that the money should be really paid.
“These institutions should not implement whatever the authorities ask them to do so. They will investigate carefully before taking any action. Tourism ministry should first file a case at MIRA and then they should investigate it and make sure that the case is solid. MIRA did not do any of these things and just acted. Even the police will not do that. If we look at the past, in cases like this police will investigate it for a long period and then help to get back the money. Even the people will know very well that, even in those days, police will not just request to pay back money without any investigations” said the official.
The official said that today we are seeing that the state institutions are in a worse state than those days and that this is sad.
If MIRA investigates fairly, no action will be taken against Villa Shipping!
