Colonel Nazim has been transferred back to prison from house arrest. He is serving an 11 year jail sentence for possession of a pistol that had DNA of former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb.
Correctional Service stated that Nazim was kept in house arrest because there were some renovations going on at the jail. Nazim’s family said that Maldivian Correctional Service officers and SO police took him to prison earlier today.
It has been proven that the pistol found in Colonel Nazim’s room was owned by Ahmed Adeeb, because police revealed that they found Adeeb’s DNA from the pistol. Colonel Nazim’s family requested police and the PG to investigate the case. However, it is not known whether any investigations have been launched to investigate the case.
