Leader os Jumhooree Party Qasim Ibrahim have said that the development Maldives Police Service has attained over the few years is praise worthy. He made this statement while speaking to the press tonight.
Qasim said that since it is the 84th anniversary of the police, he wishes to congratulate them. He said that tonight he is sure that since police and the army got separated, police has attained significant developments.
He said that since he became active in early political reform movements in the Maldives, he has been summoned to the police several times and he has been questioned by several people over the years. He said that, police officers who were in junior ranks are now senior and he is happy for their achievements.
Qasim said that how he was treated in 2004 and how he was treated tonight was very different and that shows how much the institution has developed.
Qasim was the Home Minister in MDP administration for a few days and in addition, he has helped the institution in a personal capacity over the years.
