Special function held onboard Maldives’ Hero Ship INS Tir

A special ceremony has been held onboard Maldives Hero Ship INS Tir, the Indian Navy ship that came to assist Maldives after the 3rd November terrorist attacks.

Speaking at the function, the Indian Highcomissoner to Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra said that the function is being held on a ship that created strong relations between the two countries. “This ship is the first ship that came to Maldives after Maldives got attacked on 3rdNovember” said the amHighcomissioner.

He said that he has worked in many countries and he has never received support and cooperation as much as he received from Maldives, from any other country. He said that he never experienced warm hospitality as he has experienced from Maldives.

“Every time we meet a Maldivian, we are treated with kindness and respect. Thanks a lot. Assalaamualaikum. I really love Maldives and thank you very much” said Akhilesh Mishra.


The function was attended by Chief of Defense Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam, senior officers of MNDF, Health Minister Nazim and other senior officials of the government foreign diplomats.
