President Yameen have said that the biggest challenge faced by the police is the disrespectful acts towards the police by some people.
He made this statement while speaking at the ceremony held to mark the 84th anniversary of Maldives police service. The president said that the police are in the nation’s service 24 hours and the government recognizes it.
The president said the biggest challenge faced by the police is some people in respectable positions calling to confront the police. He said that such people include former police commissioners and political leaders. He said that this is a huge challenge.
In addition, president said that democracy does not mean anyone can do whatever they wish to do. He said that things are going well for Maldives because rule of law is upheld.
