Ibrahim Hassan, the MP for Thoddoo constituency have said that getting a jail cell is better than not getting a palace for speaking the truth.
Speaking at the rally held at Kunooz by the opposition coalition, Ibrahim Hassan said that crying for the nation would not help and today is the day everyone should use their chest as shields for the nation. He said that he is under oath and he will not say anything other than the truth.
He said that he will support the government in things that a beneficial for the nation and he has done that in the past. He said that the affairs of the country will be in the right direction when the government rules according to the constitution and not by punishing the leaders who are working for reform.
Ibrahim Hassan said that now the people do not believe that the government should develop the islands when only they elect a council that supports the government. In addition, he said that it is not a crime to invite other members to join one’s own part and even he gets such invitations. He said that punishing the leader of a party for inviting other members to join his party is totally unacceptable.
