A senior government official has been arrested for planning to kill Shujaau Usman a High Court judge.
Sources say that police arrested. Ibrahim Haneef a senior policy executive at the Education Ministry. Police is investigating Haneef for offering money to kill the judge. Online news website Avas reported that an audio clip has also been obtained by the police where some people were instructed to kill the judge.
Haneef will be taken to criminal court today for a remand hearing. Haneef is from Ga Atoll and is a close friend of MP Saud of Villingili constituency. Saud defected to the opposition very recently.
