A large protest has been held in Adh.Maamigili calling the government to release Qasim. All the citizens of Maamigili took part in the protest.
They called the government to release Qasim immediately. They said that Qasim’s arrest was politically motivated and asked political rivals not to oppress him. “We will never stop our protests till our father, Qasim is released. Qasim is the most kind and helpful person we have ever seen.”
Similar protests were held in many other islands of Maldives as well. People of B.Thulhaadhoo are also planning to hold a protest tomorrow.
Qasim was arrested two nights ago and criminal court has remanded him to police custody for 6 days.
